A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM LISA STROUD, HEADTEACHER

I am delighted and privileged to be the headteacher for Kingsdown School. I have been a teacher for many years, with various leadership roles. During this time it has always been important to me, to acknowledge each child as an individual, and build on their strengths by providing the best education possible to unlock their potential. Every child in our school will be provided with a breadth of opportunities to provide them with the knowledge and experiences to achieve their very best life in school and beyond.

I wholeheartedly understand the importance of every child feeling safe, cared for and happy to come to school and access personalised learning, in order to achieve their aspirations for a healthy and successful adulthood. I am passionate about challenging the perception of others regarding young people with special educational needs.

I have a strong belief that an effective home school partnership is a key factor in every child’s education and sense of wellbeing. With this in mind I take the time to understand the uniqueness of every child’s journey, the challenges which have been faced, and appreciate the importance of celebrating progress and achievements.

I am committed to the success of the school and will strive to ensure all pupils receive the outstanding education they deserve. I am determined that the school will build on its excellent reputation and continue to flourish and maintain its position at the heart of our community.
