KINGSDOWN CLASSES
Kingsdown School currently has 130 pupils, divided into thirteen classes, all named after animals well-known to the children.

BEARS CLASS

Just like real bears we have our own unique personalities, value our friendships, share our resources and enjoy engaging in social play.
This year, Bears’ Class Teachers are Becky & Mel. There are 9 pupils in the class.

CROCODILES CLASS

As true crocodiles we like to test the waters and hungrily snap up good learning. There is no sitting on the rocks for us.
This year, Crocodiles’ Class Teacher is Sophie. There are 11 pupils in the class.
DUCKLINGS CLASS
As ducklings we are very entertaining and sociable creatures who like to stick together and return to a familiar location. We very quickly change our appearance from cute and fuzzy to become handsome specimens who love water play and are curious about our environment.
This year, Ducklings’ Class Teacher is Donna. There are 11 pupils in the class.

ELEPHANTS CLASS

Just like elephants we are companionable, gentle creatures who like to spend our day drinking, bathing, wallowing, dusting, playing and resting.
This year, Elephants’ Class Teachers are Claire & Mel. There are 10 pupils in the class.
FISH CLASS

Just like our tropical cousins we are bold, colourful and come in all shapes and sizes
This year, Fish’s Class Teacher is Emma. There are 8 pupils in the class.

GIRAFFES CLASS

Giraffes are good looking, confident, uncompromising and love to be the centre of attention. They gallop through life.
This year, Giraffes’ Class Teachers are Sharon & Silvia. There are 11 pupils in the class.
HEDGEHOGS CLASS

We are not the shy, spikey, dormant creatures you may expect. Just like our hedgehog namesakes we are very curious and it is most likely that we are active when you are not!
This year, Hedgehogs’ Class Teachers are Alice & Megan. There are 10 pupils in the class.

KANGAROOS CLASS

Just like real kangaroos our class are very energy efficient and strong swimmers.
This year, Kangaroos’ Class Teacher is Angie. There are 9 pupils in the class.

LIONS CLASS
Like lions we are handsome, social creatures who are affectionate and when resting enjoy lots of touching! Be sure to keep your eye on us as we also like to pad around and have a good roar!
This year, Lions’ Class Teachers are Hannah & Megan. There are 10 pupils in the class.

MONKEYS CLASS

As monkeys we are affectionate, curious and love to be in the limelight. We love nothing more than to put our agility skills into practice, especially in the Soft Play Room
This year, Monkeys’ Class Teachers are Lyndsey & Vanessa. There are 11 pupils in the class.

PENGUINS CLASS

Short and strong with streamline bodies penguins like to stand themselves upright and waddle away to explore their surroundings. Just like our namesake we absolutely love to splash around in water and have plenty of fun!
This year, Penguins’ Class Teachers are Ceilidh & Becky. There are 11 pupils in the class.

SHARKS CLASS

Just like Sharks we have been around for a while, we have a huge appetite, but ours is for knowledge. We are determined to achieve our best and reach our goals.
This year, Sharks’ Class Teacher is Amanda. There are 9 pupils in the class.
TURTLES CLASS

Just like Turtles, we are curious and determined to achieve our goals. We love nothing more than to celebrate our differences.
This year, Turtles’ Class Teachers are Elyse & Vanessa. There are 11 pupils in the class.
